 DREAMS FROM AN ALIEN WORLD

I sleep with some dreams lost.
But they creep in from an alien world.

They waft in like the aroma of kahwa cuppa,
They amble along and linger around.
The sips together with, mute looks
That vanish like the leftover, cold in the cup.
But I keep basking in the sanguinary warmth,
And,
With eyes wide awake -
I sleep with some dreams lost.
But they creep in from some alien world.

They come and rake up the dying embers,
They smell of sizzling hot aloo parathas.
The nibble, together with, mute content
That dissolves like the last bit of cake crumbs.
But I keep feeling the taste lingering long,
And,
With eyes wide awake -
I sleep with some dreams lost.
But they creep in from some alien world.

They flow in and sing a soft, mellow tune,
They whisper in the songs of a skylark.
The ride together with, silly giggling
That fades like the distant notes in the swound.
But my ears keep ringing with those sweet notes.
And,
With eyelids slightly ajar,
I sleep with those lost dreams.
But they creep in from some alien world.
